The Nd:YAG laser in the Fotona system acts specifically on the melanin (pigment) present at the hair roots. Therefore, it destroys hairs permanently, without affecting or burning the skin at the application site.
Permanent hair removal with Fotona is effective with any skin tone and at any time of the year (including summer) and is much less painful than conventional laser hair removal.
