Pediculosis and Scabies

Numerous parasites can affect the skin the most common are scabies mites, popularly known as scabies, and lice known as pediculosis.

These parasites cause local irritation and itching. By scratching the infected area, the person can scarify the skin and the skin lesions turn into germs that cause numerous damage to the body.

In the past, parasitic infections of the skin particularly affected the needy population, with difficult access to hygiene conditions and adequate basic sanitation. Today they manifest themselves in individuals of the most varied socioeconomic levels and are not always easy to control.
