Acne and other Scars

Cicatrizes de Acne e Outras
Currently, there are several ways to smooth acne scars and other types of scars. Oftentimes, more than one method is needed to obtain ideal results. Some techniques are:

  • Fotona Laser – The technology utilizes high-precision laser beams to soften scars and, at the same time, stimulate the production of natural collagen. The result is long-term improvement in texture. The laser also treats active acne: it reaches hyperactive sebaceous glands and reduces the population of acne-causing bacteria, eliminating current acne and diminishing new outbreaks.
  • Chemical Peelings – Acids are applied to the skin with the aim of peeling it off and promoting its renewal, with formation of new collagen and improvement of blemishes.
  • Fractionalized CO2 Laser – This treatment utilizes parallel laser beams to strike small areas of the skin. The healthy skin around these areas remains preserved and helps to heal the areas affected by the laser. With this, there is intense production of new collagen and improved skin texture.
  • Intense Pulsed Light – Generates heat in the skin and stimulates collagen, with great improvement in texture, spots and capillaries.
  • Fillers – Hyaluronic acid is injected under the scar, lifting it and smoothing out the surface of the skin, in addition to stimulating collagen. The effects last from one to two years.
  • Surgery Scars – Lifting of the bottom of pitted scars or complete removal of the scar can be done with a suture, with or without a skin graft.
  • Subscision – Used to elevate pitted scars. The bottom of the scar is anchored to deeper tissues and the technique is to release the skin from these tissues by peeling it off.
